Holy Trinity, Trowbridge, Wiltshire

The interior is delightful and is at the final stage of a complete redecoration. If you have been here, you may remember a turquoise schem, but this is now replaced with a piny grey and scarlet scheme. Plaster vaulting is carried on cast-iron columns. Pevsner calls it "a really ugly interior" but I disagree. It is delightful. The west end was still full of scaffolding which the lady vicar had expected to have been removed by today as the painting has been completed. I am not so sure about the new seating which probably replaced pews, but if that is the price to pay for the continued use of the building (and it seems a thriving concern) it is peanuts!
