St Roch, Hradčany, Prague

To be honest the next church we visited was the cathedral of St Vitus, more on that later as we only stood at the west end, and I went back on a different day to do it properly. It stands in the middle of the castle area on a bluff overlooking the river. At the opposite end of the castle area is the Strahov Monastery, and at the entrance is the church of St Roch. This is a small oddly shaped church in a transitional style from Gothic to Classical. It was built in 1603-14, and altered in 1747 and 1882. It is now deconsecrated and the building houses art exhibitions (Galerie MIRO). A glimpse of the interior from the front door cash desk shows a whitened minimalist space with no extant fittings. Some smallish interiors can be found here http://www.praguecityline.com/services-in-prague/galerie-miro-prague-1
